Learn about the Chakras with #1 Bestselling Author & Expert on the Chakra System Dr. Anodea Judith, PhD

Discover how to open, align, and heal your chakras to activate your energy system, nurture your spiritual awakening, and enjoy a vibrant, thriving, and full-spectrum life.

We’re all fueled by life-force energy. Yogis call it prana… Asian healers call it chi or qi…

We’re often more in tune with this vital charge that flows through us when we’re excited or scared — or we notice its absence when we’re depressed or exhausted.

Did you know that you have the power within you to control the flow of your energy — dialing it up or down at will?

If you long to have instant access to your life force so you can live the full spectrum of your life — from feeling more alive and comfortable in your body to more ecstatically connected to the Divine — the good news is there’s a “user’s manual” for your energy system which can help you work with it at the deepest level… through your chakras.

This workshop is designed for students who are either new to yoga, coming back after a break and for those who need a refresher on the foundation and safe alignment of poses.

We will go over how to safely build poses with a steady foundation, safe alignment and modifications so that yoga can become a regular practice and for you to enjoy the many health benefits associated with yoga, breath-work and meditation.

We will explore yogic breathing techniques and get a taste of the most frequently encountered yoga poses, with an opportunity to ask questions that you don’t get to in a typical class setting. What Are Chakras?

The Sanskrit word chakra literally translates as wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body.

There are seven main chakras, which align along the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. To visualize a chakra in the body, imagine a swirling wheel of energy where matter and consciousness meet. This invisible energy, called prana, is vital life force, which keeps us vibrant, healthy, and alive.

My Rainbow Shell Camino Patches

The rainbow shell design of my Camino patches was inspired by the concept of chakras,  an important part of my journey with yoga and healing in 2017. The rainbow also symbolizes peace and universal love. Combined with the Camino shell design, it radiates healing, peace, and love, from root to crown. The patch design for each year changes, highlighting the chakra color from root to crown.  The 2019 patch pictured below features orange color for the sacral chakra. The name of the second chakra is Svadhisthana, which means “one’s own sweet place.” Anodea Judith calls chakra two “The Pleasure Chakra” and has some interesting stuff about it here.
