It’s been a busy fall at my workplace, in addition to many events, social activities, commitments, and hobbies all converging around the same time. It’s all good, because my yoga and wellness practices—along with deep gratitude and faith—help get me through every challenge. I guess I am really practicing what I preach! Nonetheless, I look forward to things slowing down soon and enjoying the holidays with family. I hope you all are taking care of yourselves. Here are a few highlights of wellness events in the SF Bay Area, starting with my final yoga class of the year! Continue reading “Yoga & Wellness Newsletter November”
Below are a selection of upcoming events, including a Wonder Women of UC Berkeley walking tour, sound meditation, and yoga workshops based on the Bhagavad Gita. As always, I’m sharing a few online bonuses, such as a Wonder Woman yoga sequence, binaural beats listening trial, and the October Happiness Calendar.
And if you are curious about the Camino de Santiago (another favorite hobby of mine), I’ll be co-presenting at Bay Area REI stores in Corte Madera (Oct 9), Concord (Oct 23), and Berkeley (Nov 6). See details of Packing for your pilgrimage walk on the Camino de Santiago and more Camino events here.
Below are a few wellness events hosted by my favorite yogis and studios. But first, I’d like to share a fun new activity in the Bay Area: Wonder Women of SF walking tours by ispytours.com.
Meet Lady artists, pioneers, revolutionaries, and generally impressive dames who have influenced San Francisco. One in a series of walking tours to honor the many women who have contributed to our city’s legacy. Each tour is unique, visiting a different neighborhood and sharing the stories of a new set of women.
I attended a Wonder Women of UC Berkeley walking tour and enjoyed fascinating stories of Phoebe Hearst, Ida Jackson, Julia Morgan, Maxine Hong Kingston—and other inspiring women who made their marks on the campus, California, and the nation. The tour stopped by the beautiful Hearst Gym where I’ll be teaching yoga again this semester. Learn about more walking tours in SF and yoga workshops below.
Hello all! I hope you are doing well and enjoying the summer. Below are a few wellness events hosted by my favorite yogis and studios. I am super excited about the Full Moon Circle, Rockridge Sound Bath, Yoga Day at the Ballpark, and a Yoga + Writing Retreat. Online Freebies include Janet Stone’s interview on the Yogapedia Podcast, and the August Happiness Calendar, which encourages us to find our altruistic selves.

Full Moon Circle
Friday, August 16, 2019
6:30pm to 8:30pm
Crab Cove Beach in Alameda
Join Anne Gregory & Nicolette Tura of The Luminous Awakening for this special gathering under the open sky. August’s post Eclipse season is extremely powerful for illuminating our relationships and restoring balance and harmony! The healing nature of community will amplify this magic.
Let’s come together to celebrate the Sturgeon Full Moon, named for the when this large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water like Lake Champlain are most readily caught. A few Native American tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon — because when the moon rises it looks reddish through sultry haze. The abundant energy of this phase makes it a great time for both releasing and manifesting.
We will open with a grounding meditation followed by a talk about the significance of the full moon. She will be in Aquarius in the 7th house which rules relationships, balance & harmony AND the opposing Sun is exactly conjoined with Venus who rules the 7th house with Mars not too far from his lover. Fireworks in the sky!
Flow through moon salutations, forgive, release and make space for what you would like to see emerge in your life. From there, you will be guided through Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep, a transformative practice designed to heal and restore you on all levels. We will conclude chanting together as the sun sets and the moon rises.
Location: Meet at Crab Cove Visitor Center, 1231 McKay Ave, Alameda. Practice will be on lawn or beach depending on tide.
Suggested Donation $30-$20
